The ultimate Ubi guide for cyclists

Over the years, Singapore has been expanding the park connector network (PCN). Cyclists can now travel long distances across Singapore in a safe and conducive manner. But with long-distance riding comes hunger and thirst.

In this new blog series, we’ll be exploring the best food and PCNs across Singapore. Click on the link to check out our ultimate guide for cyclists for Woodlands, Bukit Batok, City Hall and Clementi

But first, Ubi.

Most people associate Ubi with being an industrial area, full of heavy vehicles and offices. But beneath the surface lies some amazing hidden gems, filled with great scenery and awesome food.

Cycling Paths
Mobot’s HQ is located in Oxley Bizhub 2. Some people drive here, some take public transport. But there are actually park connectors nearby that cyclists can use.

Starting near the junction of  Merparti Road and Circuit Road is Balam Park Connector. It goes through Pelton Canal and ends at Paya Lebar Road. Though Balam Park Connector is only a short 1.2km, there’s a beautiful Rain Garden located along the PC for all to enjoy.

The other PC nearby is Pelton Canal PC. At 2.52km, this PC also starts at the junction of Merpati Road and Circuit Road. Just as the name suggests, this PC goes through Pelton Canal and ends at Kallang PC (Upper Boon Keng Estate). Do take note that there are two overhead bridges over PIE and Aljunied Road, an underpass at Upper Boon Keng Road, as well as a footbridge across Pelton Canal.

If you’re looking for a longer and more challenging journey, you can try the Central Urban Loop that starts at Toa Payoh Town Park and ends at Punggol Town Park. Spanning across 15.6km, it takes about 2 hours to cycle. Along the way, you’ll pass by Balam Park Connector and Pelton Canal PC.

For more information on the Central Urban Loop, you can check out the guide from National Parks.

Food Near The Area
There’s nothing better than a good meal after a long ride. There’s a ton of selection, ranging from beautiful cafes to Michelin star food.
