There are various options available whenever someone wants to work out. They can choose high-intensity circuit training in an airconditioned gym or leisure laps around the pool. But what makes cycling a favourite among some is that they can do it consistently in a group or alone without feeling awkward or under restrictions.
I do not need to attend a class or book a hall. Furthermore, I can go whenever I want, wherever I wish. And the most wonderful thing about cycling is it is fun. I can be a speed demon racing down Tanah Merah Coast on a day and a “tourist” visiting Jurassic Mile on another day. On special days, I am a food critic visiting that famed nasi lemak stall at Boon Lay.
While enjoying myself, my body gets a low-impact workout. There are times when I will push myself harder but not because I want to burn more calories. It is because I want to enjoy the wind blowing against my face, carrying all the troubles away.
With the opening of the borders, I am already planning for my first overseas cycling trip next month with my ROYALE foldable bicycle.
