Comex, one of Singapore’s biggest and longest-running IT and consumer technology shows, is back.

Organised by Exhibits Inc, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, the four-day event at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre (levels 3, 4 and 6) starts today.

This annual technology fair has evolved into much more than a huge consumer electronics sale.

Where: Suntec Singapore, levels 3, 4 and 6
When: Sept 8 to 11
Level 3 (11am to 9pm); Levels 4 and 6 (noon to 9pm)
Admission: Free

On level 4, you can check out the latest in consumer technology in the Tech Showcase, and get up close with the latest products from Samsung, Motorola, Dell and HP.

On level 6 (Hall 605), the GameX area offers gamers a chance to test their skills in the multi-player first-person shooter (FPS) classic CounterStrike: Global Offensive, or Overwatch, the latest popular FPS.

Like any tech show worth its salt, a Comex would not be complete without booth babes.

If you ever needed a ready-made excuse to have a selfie taken with the ladies, there is a Booth Babes selfie contest.

Take a selfie with your favourite booth babe, share it on the designated Facebook page and you could win $500 cash.

The show also offers you the opportunity to offload your old tech gadgets for vouchers to fund new purchases.

So take your used laptops LCD monitors, smartphones, tablets and monitors (they must be 18.5-inch or larger), to the trade-in counters at the entrance of Halls 603 and 604.

There, you can exchange the used items for Comex 2016 cash vouchers. There are other goodies for the trade-ins as well, such as a free one-year Kaspersky Internet security subscription. If you are one of the first 100 trade-in customers, you can also enjoy $200 off selected Lenovo laptops at the show.

Old gaming consoles can also be traded in for Comex cash vouchers at Hall 601 during the show.

Go to www.comexshow.com.sg/tradein for more information on the trade-in programme.

HP is also offering a trade-in promotion. For the first time in a tech show, it will take any old printer and toner and give you $30 worth of HP vouchers to use at Comex 2016.

And, of course, there is a lucky draw. You can win up to $100,000 worth of prizes and vouchers in the Instant Lucky Dip draw.

Sign up on www.comexshow.com.sg/lucky-dip, and come to Comex for an instant lucky dip. Prizes include Dell SE2417HG monitors, Seagate hard drives and $1,000 Asus vouchers for any Asus ROG laptop or desktop PC.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your smartphone, cash and credit card, and get ready to walk the floor at Comex for selfies, gadgets and bargains.
